Margaret (Margie) Rex – Creator & Executive Producer
Margaret is “The Magic Paint Box” creator and founder of PuppARTry Productions, LLC. Before founding the company, Margie was a customer service representative for DTI Security and Databridge, Inc. As an award winning artist in Santa Clara, Margie has been involved in many art shows. She organized one of the first Art & Wine festivals for the city, and created a float for the “City of Champions” annual parade. Margie has given many art demonstrations nationally, and eventually discovered her talent as a puppeteer, which she included in her art presentations. Encouraged by the public’s response, Margie went on to develop an art and puppet show for children which she performed at the San Jose and Kauai Children’s Discovery Museums, the Great Mall of Milpitas, shopping malls in Oahu, and many local libraries. In 2003, Margie produced her first video, “Nanny and Andy the Animated Artist.” In 2004, she created and produced a television pilot, “PuppARTry Place,” which aired on Santa Clara’s Channel 26.
Larry Rex – Executive Producer
As co-founder of PuppARTry Productions LLC, Larry has given his full support to the project. Upon graduating from De Vry Technical Institute in 1960, he entered the fledging computer industry as a field engineer providing on-site training to others. He then switched to education and applied his creativity to developing and teaching computer classes to thousands. Today, he is the owner of LDR Training Systems specializing in adult education. He also functioned as the Producer for the video and pilot created by his wife Margie.
Charles Rudnick - Producer and Technical Director
Charles has been a Director, Director of Photography, consultant, and teacher. Mr. Rudnick has worked with BBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS on documentaries, including 20 episodes of “In Search of …,” the nationally syndicated show hosted by Leonard Nimoy. Charles also acts as director and producer on various projects, such as Newsweek InterActive. He has also produced and directed commercials, films, and video programs for many corporate clients. Charles has also won numerous awards for his work, which include Emmy, Telly, Communicator Cristral Award, ITVA Golden Award, and The Joe Award.
Eric Hayes - Director
Eric Fraisher Hayes is a director, writer, actor and arts educator. He spent eleven years in Chicago where he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Theater School, DePaul University. Credits include the Goodman Theater, Steppenwolf, Shattered Globe, Next, Northlight and Apple Tree Theater Company. Eric has spent seasons with the Colorado and Wisconsin Shakespeare Festivals. Recently, he completed writing outreach curriculum for the New York Classical Stage.
Daniella Martin – Associate Producer
Daniella Forest Martin began puppeteering at the age of eight, to a captive audience of one, her younger brother. She has performed at the Children's Fairyland in Oakland, and in several puppet-centric television pilots. She has also performed as a singer in Mexico, China, Vermont, and Texas, and currently provides the voice and animation of the lead-singing puppet in a local band, Bunny Numpkins and the Kill Blow-up Reaction. Daniella holds a BA in Medical Anthropology and may someday follow it up with a doctorate in Naturopathic medicine. She adores travel, art, children, guerilla improv street theater, film, and fun of any kind.
Chip Street – Head Writer
Chip earned a BA in studio art from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1986, where he double-majored in studio art and literature with an emphasis on creative writing. He has worked as a published cartoonist, illustrator and writer. His scientific and science fiction illustrations have been featured on the SciFi Channel's Inside Space (1993), OMNI Magazine (October 1992), and KCET's California Stories (1987). Additionally, he co-authored an educational workshop text, The Meehan/Street Protocol, which was incorporated into experimental education classes by CONTACT and co-sponsored by NASA. He also co-authored a scientific article entitled "Extrapolative Futurism as an Educational Tool" which was published by The Journal of Practical Applications in Space (1991).
Bryan Amick - Production Manager
While studying for a degree in Multimedia Communications, Graphics and Animation, Bryan became manager for several student projects due to his ability to break down a project into it's components. Later, he became involved in production of video games and also worked with corporations on their trade-show exhibits. Bryan continues to study his passions, in the Television and Film Industries. |
